Another 2N3055 power amplifier circuit is presented below and has some characteristics: its simple to build at a low cost, you can use almost any components (!) which you can find at home. It’s a class B 2N3055 power amplifier, that means there is some current flowing through the end transistors even without input signal (this current can be regulated with the 500Ω trimmer resistor.)The optimal power supply voltage is around 50V but you can use 30 to 60Volts. The maximum input audio voltage level is around 0.8 – 1V and the output power is around 60W.
Circuit description:
- capacitor C1 adjustes the lower frequencies, for louder bass use higher C1 values.
- capacitor C2 adjusted the higher frequencies, for louder high frequencies use lower C2 values.
2N3055 power amplifier 60W
Another power amplifier circuit that we present below can deliver 40W on a 8Ω speaker or 30W into 16Ω. The gain for audio frequencies is 18 (25dB), which means an input sensitivity of 1V for an output of 40W. You should increase the C7 value to 4700 uF and decrease C1 to 1uF. Power supply voltage is 60V (3A).
Here are some suggested replacement transistors: Q1 – BC559, Q2 – BD139, Q3 – BD139, Q4 – BD140, Q5 – 2N3055, Q6 – 2N3055.
