Yamaha A-S2000 Natural Sound Stereo Amplifier. The A-S2000 presents us with an amplifier that at modest volumes is a lively performer with a bright, upfront personality. The built-in phono stage is capable of good performance with a variety of high and low output cartridges.

Aesthetically, the Yamahas hit all the targets with their stylish retro-look and substantial build quality.
Unfortunately their sound quality is also retro, harking back to the quality of reproduction reminiscent of ‘80s CD/amplifier combinations. At this price point the benchmarks are high and while the Yamahas are not totally unlistenable, they fail to provide the performance expected from a $6000 pairing.

Russound R1250MC amp is a 12-channel power amplifier ideal for use as the main amplifier in home theater and distributed audio systems. The 12 channels are arranged in pairs to provide amplification for six stereo zones.
The R1250MC amplifier provides an array of useful features such as autosensing line inputs, bridged mono operation, independent zone triggering, bus inputs and multiple speaker outputs per zone to meet a wide variety of applications and configurations.

Russound R1250MC amplifier is rated at 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 80 watts per channel into 4 ohms. With a zone’s mode switch set in the Bridge Mono position, both channels in the zone are combined for a mono output of 140 watts into an 8-ohm load. All this power is supplied by three high-output toroidal transformers. Each amplifier output channel includes robust protection circuitry for safety and reliability under extreme circumstances.

NAD M3 amplifier review: is a Dual mono integrated amplifier with 2-channels of 180-watts of pure power. The NAD M3 amp offers internal switching for two pairs of speakers and tone controls as well as a second Zone 2 output with independent commands and even its own remote control.
Performance features include a precision volume attenuator with 0.5dB steps and a range of 87.5db, a remote balance control with 0.5dB steps, and a Mode control which allows stereo, left only, right only and mono settings.

Tone controls offer bass and treble adjustments as well as a “spectral tilt” option that is highly effective at correcting the tonal balance of many recordings by simultaneously increasing the bass and decreasing the treble (and vice versa) to create a warmer or cooler balance. There are also a second set of preamp outputs and a switchable high-pass filter for the internal amplifier.

The M3 is NAD’s concept of the ideal musical companion, capable of transporting the listener to that place where the music simply exists in its own perfect space. For this task we have pushed classical analog circuit design to unprecedented levels of performance. The total lack of audible noise and distortion is the result of some very sophisticated analog engineering, and rather surprisingly, the use of digital control.

The Primare SPA22 is a 5x120W integrated A/V amplifier and digital controller and is the natural successor to the award-winning SPA21, which was recognised around the world for its ease of use and ‘hi-fi’ sound quality. As the first of a new generation of Primare home entertainment products however, the SPA22 represents a considerable evolutionary advance in terms of design, performance, user flexibility and versatility.
SPA22 is a surround processor and amplifier which is able to further upgrade, with a plug-in board option that allows you to prolong its use in your home before you ditch it for a better model.

The new SPA-22 combines the advanced control flexibility and upgradable topology of the SP32 with five discrete channels of amplification rated at 120W each. The amplifiers are of a new type of purified Class D/switch-mode design.

The Primare SPA22 provides three switchable HDMI v1.3 inputs and a single HDMI output for audio and video, incorporating a user-selectable audio processing and bypass function. HDMI v1.3 capability is significant because it carries uncompressed multi-channel PCM audio from a Blu-ray player to the SPA22’s DACs and beyond to the amplifiers and loudspeakers.

Pioneer Premier PRS-D1200SPL car amplifier features huge power delivered with low heat and distortion, thanks to its Class D technology. It provides Bass Boost, a subsonic filter, and a variable crossover, and it’s 1-ohm mono stable. Plus, you can externally bridge 2 amps together, increasing power and still keeping things simple to operate.
The units are externally bridgeable and permit two separate amplifiers to be joined together as one, doubling the power to a single woofer or voice coil. That’s over 2400 Watts RMS (4800 peak!) with the PRS-D1200SPL, ideal for use in serious SPL competition vehicles. Best of all, no special cable is required – a simple RCA cable and proper setting of the Sync mode will get this.

Multi-Amplifier Synchronization System (MASS)
Pioneer’s proprietary Multi-Amplifier Synchronization System (MASS) technology allows one amplifier to control the settings of other amplifiers when two or more amps are “strapped” together. Especially important for multi-amplified systems, this powerful Pioneer technology eliminates the need to adjust each amplifier gain separately.

Subsonic Filter
The subsonic filter lets you remove power-robbing frequencies below the tuning of your subwoofer/enclosure. The subsonic is set at 20Hz with a steep 24dB/Octave rolloff for optimal effect.

Variable Crossover (40~240Hz)
For added flexibility, the variable crossover lets you set the levels at which higher-frequency signals will be filtered out, so that the remaining lower-frequency signals get sent to your sub(s). Where they belong. This optimizes your system’s efficiency and delivers the best possible sound quality. You can adjust it continuously between 40 to 240Hz, as well as selecting from either -18dB/Octave or -24dB/Octave rolloff, giving you the ultimate flexibility in setting up your system.

Variable Bass Boost
Bass boost gives you more control over how your music sounds. You can adjust the tuning frequency from 40 to 120Hz, as well as the level from 0 (flat) all the way to 12dB of boost.

NAD M25 7-Channel Amplifier

The NAD M25 7 channel audio amplifier is actually made up of seven individual mono block amplifiers with each channel using a balanced junction FET input stage to eliminate cross-talk, resulting in exceptionally low levels of noise and distortion. The NAD M2 Direct Digital Ampliﬁer represents a new level of ampliﬁer performance by combining the ultra low distortion and noise levels of the ﬁnest linear Class A and Class AB ampliﬁers with the efﬁciency and streamlined signal path of the digital ampliﬁer, the M2 is the ﬁrst implementation of a new ampliﬁer technology called Direct Digital Feedback.

For Direct Digital Feedback to work correctly requires a very wide bit path and very high speed operation. The M2’s extremely wide 35-bit data path allows for compensation to be made without truncating any information in the original signal. Running from a master clock frequency of 108MHz there is enough speed to keep a very wide amplifier bandwidth and very low noise and distortion in the audio band.

The NAD M2 amplifier uses three power supplies, all of them highly efficient switch mode types. Each channel gets its own high current power supply in a dual mono configuration. The Input stage and control sections get their own dedicated supply with multiple regulated secondary voltages for individual sections.
